When you top-up your Pay As You Go smart meter, the credit you've added should reach your meter automatically. This can take up to 40 minutes.
If that doesn't happen for any reason, or you need to add your credit more quickly, you can use a top-up code instead. It's a 20-digit number you'll get when you top-up your meter.
You'll see your top-up code on the confirmation screen when you top-up online. It's worth making a note of this number in case you need it.
If you give us an email address when you're topping up, we'll email you a receipt with it on, too.
If you're going to top-up in a shop that offers PayPoint, you'll get a receipt that has your code on it.

You can either enter the code into your Smart Energy Tracker, or directly into your smart meter.
