Understanding your bill
Your bill shows what you've used and how much it cost. We'll tell you if we've used an actual or estimated meter reading and how we've worked out the charges (including any payments you've made or balances from a previous bill). If we change our prices, your bill will be split between the old and new prices. Don't worry, we'll let you know before we change them, so you can check our tariffs and see which one is right for you.
Updating a meter reading
You can update estimated readings through your online account and get a new balance straight away.
You can also use our online form or call us any time on 0345 071 7936. It's a good idea to check the meter serial number on the front of your meter matches the number on your bill. If you think we've got the wrong meter details, please contact us.
Does your bill look higher than usual?
What you use can vary over the year. During winter you're more likely to have your heating and lights on, and you might stay indoors more than usual. Extra appliances or having more people living in your home can also increase what you use. Faulty appliances can be less efficient, so it's a good idea to get them checked by a qualified electrician.
