A Feed-in Tariff (FiT) is an incentive structure legislated by the Government to encourage the adoption of renewable energy in the UK.
For more information and advice on Feed-in Tariffs you can contact our FiT Bureau on 0800 975 0502* (Monday to Friday 8am - 8pm and Saturday 8am - 2pm).
Since the start of the FiT Scheme a number of consultations by the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) have resulted in changes to the scheme, which include a reduction in the tariff levels.
For information on these changes visit the DECC website. For Feed-in Tariff Scheme tariff tables visit Ofgem.
If you have an MCS accredited installation, your Eligibility Date will be the date we receive your completed application form and supporting documents.
Your Eligibility Date determines which FiT tariff you'll be entitled to, as well as the date you're eligible to be paid from. If any of the documents required to register your installation are incomplete or missing, this may affect your Eligibility Date.
If you are applying for a Solar PV installation, in order to secure the higher FiT Generation Tariff you must provide a valid Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) of grade D or above or confirmation of exemption.
If we receive your completed application form and supporting documents via post within 5 working days of your commissioning date, we will pay you from your opening generation meter reading confirmed on your MCS certificate.
In order for us to accept your application, one of the below scenarios must apply to you:
If your electricity is supplied by British Gas, Npower, Scottish Power, EDF, EON or a company who is also classed as a Mandatory FiT licensee, we will not accept your application. Please contact your electricity supplier to register you onto the FiT Scheme.
We'll send you a further letter requesting your first meter reading. We'll process your payment and we'll send a statement, which will provide the next date your reading is due.
The quickest way to send us your meter readings is by using our online meter reading form. If you have any queries regarding the FiT Scheme please don't hesitate to call us on 0800 975 0502*.
